Michael Vincent Bonanno's Obituary
On October 24, 2017, Michael V. Bonanno entered into eternal life and joined his beloved, Mildred (Lavallee) Bonanno. Millie passed away 10 short months ago. They were life long residents of South Lawrence. Michael died peacefully at his current home on Bonanno Court surrounded by family.
Michael’s life began on a family farm in Methuen. He was a police officer for over twenty years where he faithfully served in Methuen, well known in the “town square” where he could also be seen tending bar at the Red Tavern. In his retirement he worked for Brinks, and later as a school bus driver in North Andover where anyone could tell you he enjoyed the children as much as they enjoyed him.
Michael, his wife, and their close knit group of friends enjoyed parties at their home, nights out at the bars and traveling the world. Michael enjoyed spending time with his large extended family and we will all cherish and tell stories in years to come.
Michael is survived by his stepson Walter F. Lyons and his wife, Linda of Methuen and four grandchildren, Steven, Kelly, Douglas and Derek.
He is also survived by Charlie Bonanno, Robert Bonanno, and William and Dorothy Bonanno. Barbara Frascone-Bonanno, Eileen and Larry Giordano, and Camille Hitchmoth.
He is predeceased by his brothers, sister, sisters-in-law, and brothers-in-law; Rocco and Maria Bonanno, Clemente and Anna Bonanno, Elaine Bonanno, Mary-Ann Bonanno, Thomas Frascone, William Hitchmoth, and Rita Bonanno.
Michael will also be deeply missed by his many nieces and nephews, especially by Amy Hitchmoth who became his friend and caretaker.
Friends and guests are invited to call on Friday, October 27, 2017 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence St. Methuen. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at 11:00 AM at St. Lucy’s Parish of Methuen. Interment to follow at Elmwood Cemetery of Methuen.
