Mary Jean Parker's Obituary
Mary Jean Parker, 93, of Methuen, passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at her home surrounded by her beloved family.
Mary Jean was born in North Walpole, NH on April 8, 1931, and was the oldest daughter of the late Angelo and Beatrice (Frenette) Baldasaro.
Mary Jean was raised in North Walpole, NH and graduated from Bellows Falls High School. After high school she worked a variety of jobs before meeting and marrying the love of her life the late Richard Parker and began to raise her family. After getting married she relocated with her husband first to Lawrence before moving to Methuen in 1960 in their forever home. In that home, Mary Jean blossomed, and she was the ultimate homemaker and mom who established herself as the rock of the family. Her ability to manage the schedules of six active children was unmatched. She was quick witted, proud of her family and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed travelling, going to casinos, and spending time at the beach.
Mary Jean is survived by her six children, Richard and his wife Kathleen of Orwigsburg, PA, Robert and his wife Ellie of Hopkinton, NH, James and his wife, Teresa of Danville, NH, John and his wife Christine of Methuen, MA, daughter, Heidi Parker of Methuen, MA and Joseph and his wife Cindy of Windham, NH. Also, a brother, William Baldasaro and his wife Kathleen of North Walpole, NH and two sisters, Angela Barry of Burlington, VT and Claire White of Keene, NH. She is also the cherished grandmother of 13 grandchildren and two great grandchildren who continue the family heritage along with several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Richard W. “Dick” Parker and her sister Lorraine Reynolds.
A Funeral Service to honor Mary Jean’s life will be held in the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence St., Methuen, MA on Monday, May 6, 2024 at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass in Saint’s Mary and Joseph Parish: Mary Queen of Peace Church, 200 Lawrence Rd, Salem, NH at 10am. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held in the funeral home on Sunday, May 5, 2024, from 1-4pm. Entombment, St. Mary-Immaculate Mausoleum, Lawrence, MA.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Vincent de Paul Society of Santa Clara County, PO Box 5579, San Jose, CA 95150 or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
