Mary Frances (Laliberty) Casey's Obituary
Mary Frances (Laliberty) Casey, 85, a lifelong resident of Lawrence, passed away peacefully on August 6, 2019 at home surrounded by her family. Born on June 19, 1934 to the late William and Molly (Carey) Laliberty, she attended Saint Mary’s Grammar and High Schools, graduating with the Class of 1951.
A woman who was deeply devoted to her faith, Mary was a devout Catholic who attended Saint Patrick Church in Lawrence, where she was a member of Our Lady’s Sodality. She worked for many years as a trust administrator, starting with Arlington Trust in Lawrence, until her retirement from Bank of America in Boston. Mary was the matriarch of her family and enjoyed many simple pleasures in life: reading, bowling, bingo, ceramics, and sewing. She especially loved spending time with her family, attending her grandchildren’s many sporting and musical events and going to Salisbury Beach every summer. Mary was a selfless, kind-hearted woman who was devoted to her family and her church. She was dearly cherished and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Mary is survived by her beloved husband, Joseph P. Casey, with whom she celebrated 61 years of marriage. She was the dear mother to four children: her son, Joseph Casey and his wife Michelle of Hampton Falls, NH, her daughter Tish Casey and her husband Calvin Drenkhahn of Plaistow, NH, her daughter Susan LeBlanc and her husband John of Plaistow, NH, and her son Kevin Casey and his wife Laura of Andover. Mary was also the very proud grandmother to her ten grandchildren: Patrick Casey, Sean Casey, Julia Bailey, Connor Bailey, Ava Drenkhahn, Evan LeBlanc, Ryan LeBlanc, Meghan Casey, Owen Casey and Angie Robinson, and was the great-grandmother to Logan Casey and Levi Bailey. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and her sister-in-law Mary Laliberty of Methuen. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her three brothers, George, Jack, and Bill Laliberty, and her sisters-in-law Millie and Linda.
