Mary I. Diodati (nee Dadducci)'s Obituary
Mary Diodati, 95, of Methuen died peacefully Tuesday October 18, 2017 after a short illness.
Born and educated in Methuen, she was affectionately loved by those who knew her well. She maintained an “open” home for family and friends who she loved to entertain with Italian home-cooked meals and happy conversation. She was raised in Methuen, one of eight children of the late Isabella and Vincenzo Dadducci. For 40 years she worked as a seamstress at Grieco Brothers in Lawrence, retiring in the 1980’s.
Flavio Diodati was her beloved husband of 58 years at the time of his death in 2005. She leaves behind one daughter, Christine Diodati of Methuen and Christine’s companion, Bernard Keegan of Lawrence. Mary shared a home with Christine and a very special mother-daughter friendship. She also leaves her son, Paul Diodati who held a special place in her heart, and his wife Irene and their son, John, all of Andover. John was Mary’s only grandchild and he filled her with tremendous pride and love. She also leaves two sisters, Angelina Maglia of Methuen and Antoinetta Meli of Lawrence. Mary is predeceased by her sisters Anna, Catherine, and Helena, and by her brothers Raymond and John. Lastly, she will be missed by numerous nieces, nephews, brothers- and sisters-in-law, and by a host of family friends, some new but many life-long, who were regularly welcomed into her home for visits, dinners, and holiday parties throughout the year.
Family and friends may call for Mary on Thursday, October 26 from 4 - 6 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street, Methuen, MA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 27 at 10 a.m. at Corpus Christi Parish/Holy Rosary Church, 35 Essex Street, Lawrence, MA.
