Mary D. Fairburn Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Mary Dorothy Fairburn, 79, a longtime resident of Lawrence, entered into Heaven on Tuesday evening, March 2, 2010 at Salemhaven in Salem, NH with her children at her side. Born in Winooski, VT on October 9, 1930 she was the daughter of the late Albert and Flonida (Duguette) Perron. Mary was raised in Burlington, VT and later moved to Lawrence where she worked in the mills and as a waitress. Married to her beloved husband, George T. Fairburn for 50 years, they raised five children and were further blessed with eighteen grandchildren. Her passion in life was her family, friends and the beach. She loved to tend her garden and flowers, and spent hours playing cards and enjoying campfires with everyone. Her love, humor and warm smile will be greatly missed, but we rejoice in the knowledge that she is now in Heaven with the Lord. Mary was predeceased by her husband George on May 5, 2005. She is survived by her only son, George Fairburn of Derry, his wife Monica, and their children: Kristen and her husband Chris Baker, David, and Robert; four daughters: Donna Pehl of Methuen, her husband John, and their children: John, Michael (deceased), Michelle, James and Matthew; Linda White of East Kingston, her husband Stephen, and their children: Stephen and Christopher; Mary O?Brien of Haverhill, her husband Daniel and their children: Jennifer, Rachael, Erin, Jonathan and William; Nancy Faranna of Methuen, her husband Vincent, and their children: Felicia, Lena and Julia. Also her sister Betty Francis of Yuma, AZ; a sister-in-law and close friend Rita McLaughlin of Lawrence and several nieces and nephews. Her funeral will be held from the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence St., Methuen on Saturday at 10 a.m. followed by a funeral mass in St. Patrick Church, 114 South Broadway at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. Interment will be at the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in North Andover.
