Mary Anna Poirier's Obituary
Haverhill, MA ? Mary Anna (Bedard) Poirier, 97 died March 31, 2011 at the Oxford Manor in Haverhill.
Born in Methuen December 8, 1913 Mary was the daughter of Pierre and Anna (Moreau) Bedard.
A lifelong resident of Methuen she graduated from Saint Anns high school in Lawrence and began her career working as a spinner with J.P. Stevens in Andover and North Andover.
Mary continued working as an assembler at the Honeywell Corporation in Lawrence for many years before her retirement. Mrs. Poirier was a former communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church prior to its closing and a former member of the 3rd Order of Mary.
She was devoted to her family whom she loved dearly and is survived by children; Ken and wife Joan Poirier of Tewksbury, daughter Claire and her husband David Blondin of Salem, NH, grandchildren, Mark, Christopher, Bob, David, Marie, Michael, Paul and several great grandchildren. She also is survived by nephews Louis and Patrick Bedard whom she raised as her own.
Mrs. Poirier was predeceased by children: Bob Poirier, Margaret Zinser, and Jerry Poirier. She was also predeceased by her grandson Jeff Poirier and granddaughter Michelle Poirier.
A Mass of Christian burial will take place on Wednesday morning at 9 o?clock in Saint Monicas Church with burial to follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Andover.
Friends will be warmly received on Tuesday from 4 p.m. ? 8 p.m. at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, Inc. 233 Lawrence Street in Methuen.
