Marjorie A. Sweeney's Obituary
Marjorie A. Sweeney, "Margie", passed away peacefully on Friday, December 21, 2018, at the age of 94 at Nevins Nursing Home located at 10 Ingalls Court, Methuen MA 01844. Margie was born to Patrick A. Hannigan and Marguerite V. McKew on July 26, 1924 in Lawrence, MA and was a resident of Methuen, MA. Margie worked at Honeywell for over 25 years while raising 3 children. Margie was also a past president as well as life time member of the woman's auxiliary at the VFW Post 8349 in Methuen, MA.
Margie enjoyed life and loved camping with her family, volunteering her time at the VFW, going to bingo, drawing and painting and most of all Margie loved being with her family and friends. Margie was predeceased by her husband Royal Sweeney, her life partner and "pal" Paul Hollins, her sons James J. Sweeney and Royal E. Sweeney. Margie is survived by her daughter Debora Sullivan and her husband William Sullivan of Farmington, NH, Grandchildren Bridgette Sweeney of Bradford, MA. Justin Sullivan and his wife Kristen Sullivan of Hudson, NH. Joseph Sullivan of Farmington, NH and William Sullivan of Lawrence MA. Great Grandchildren Kyle Rioux, Quintin Cleghorn, Angelina Cleghorn, Owen Sullivan, Audrey Sullivan, and Nova Lee Sullivan.
A celebration of life will be held on Thursday December 27, 2018 at Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home located at 233 Lawrence Street Methuen from 4:00-7:00 pm. Funeral services will be held on Friday December 28, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, 29 Barker Street Lawrence, MA 01844.
