Mario "Moe" C. Cavallaro's Obituary
Mario “Moe” C. Cavallaro, 73, longtime resident of Derry, formerly of Lawrence, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 25, 2020 surrounded by his loving family at the Elliot Medical Center in Manchester. Born in Lawrence on February, 8, 1947 to the late Rosario and Mary (Battiato) Cavallaro, he attended Lawrence High School graduating with the Class of 1964. After high school, like so many of his generation, Moe proudly served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. As a devout lifelong Catholic, Moe was a communicant for Saint Monica’s Parish in Methuen. In a career that spanned nearly four decades, he worked as an office manager for Raytheon until his retirement. Moe was the cherished patriarch of his family, who enjoyed the many simple pleasures of life; he loved spending time with family and friends, Boston sports and traveling to Vegas. He touched many lives in many different circles and will fondly be loved and missed by all.
Moe is survived by his beloved bride, who he met at a school dance in 1963, Mary A. (Murphy) Cavallaro, also of Derry, NH. He and his wife were married in a simple ceremony in 1966, celebrating 53 years of marriage together. Moe is the dear father to his three children; his daughter Kristin daSilva and her husband Paul of Danville, NH, his son Kevin Cavallaro and his wife Stephanie of Venice, FL, and his daughter Amy Daley and her husband Brendan of Hooksett, NH. He was the proud grandfather to Anthony, Sofia, Easton, and Emerson. Additionally, Moe is survived by several nieces, nephews and his in-law’s; Doreen Adair and her husband Jeff of Methuen, John Murphy of Dracut, and Elizabeth Donahue, also of Methuen. In addition to his parents, Moe was preceded in death by his daughter Ashley Cavallaro, his granddaughter Mia Daley and his in-law’s; William Donahue, Patricia Murphy and Patricia Duphily.
Visitation for Moe will be held on Sunday, November 1, 2020 from 1 – 4 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street, Methuen. Friends and family are cordially invited to attend. A funeral mass will be held on Monday, November 2, 2020 11 AM at Saint Monica’s Parish, 212 Lawrence Street, Methuen. Burial to follow at St. Mary’s – Immaculate Conception Cemetery, 29 Barker Street, Lawrence. Due to COVID-19 guidelines, face masks will be required at the funeral home and social distancing must be followed. If you have a health or other underlying concern, please do not attend.
