Marilyn Hillard's Obituary
Marilyn (Wilson) Hillard, born on October 10, 1953, passed away on February 16, 2024 due to natural causes. She was a beloved mother and grandmother. She was born at the Bon Secours Hospital in Methuen, MA. She attended the Methuen Public School System and graduated from Tenney High School as part of the Class of 1971.
Marilyn’s love for dance led her to become a certified dance instructor through the Dance Teachers Club of Boston, Inc. She shared her passion with countless students as a dedicated teacher at MaryJane’s School of Dance in Methuen, MA.
She was married December 3, 1971 at St. Monica’s Church in Methuen. Together with her former husband, they built a life in Salem, NH, where they resided for 29 years. She is survived by her three children, Richard Hillard of Brentwood, NH, Catherine Thorn and her husband, Jason, of Lee, NH and Jason Hillard and his wife, Amanda, of Londonderry, NH. She was blessed with nine wonderful grandchildren - Robert Hillard, Maya Hillard, Brian Hillard, James Hillard, Christopher Thorn, Jonathan Thorn, Clara Thorn, Payton Hillard, and Parker Hillard.
Additionally, she had several cousins, brothers and sisters-in-law, and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents, Edward Wilson and LaVerne (Duff) Hargreaves, her sister, Cheryl Klenner, and brothers, Edward Wilson and Michael Wilson.
Her family would like to extend their sincere thanks and love to the people who cared for her during the later years of her life. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. May she rest in peace.
Family and friends are invited to honor and celebrate Marilyn’s life by gathering for her calling hours on Thursday, February 22, 2024 from 4 – 7 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street, Methuen, MA. Her funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Methuen.
