Marie "Claire" Lamond's Obituary
Marie C. “Claire” Lamond, 91, passed away on December 25, 2020, at Penacook Place. She was born on December 24, 1929, to the late Patrick and Mary Emiline (Gaudet) McGravey in Lawrence. Claire attended school in Lawrence and graduated from St. Mary’s High School with the Class of 1947. In 1952, she married the love of her life John, whom she spent 66 wonderful years with, until his passing in 2018.
Claire had many joys in life, a couple of which were spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and playing the classic Merrimack Valley Game of 45’s. She also loved her Sunday drives, especially to the Von Trapp Family Lodge in Stowe, Vermont. When Claire was home, she loved having her family over for holiday events and gatherings.
Claire is survived by her two daughters; Marie A. (Lamond) Levesque and her husband D.G. Levesque of Salem, NH and Joanne Lamond of Westwood. She has three wonderful grandchildren; Michelle Levesque-Lucena and her husband Pedro, Stacie Levesque, and Andrew Levesque. Claire was also a great-grandmother to Jackson Burgos and was predeceased by her 7-month-old great-grandson Grayson who became an angel in heaven on September 16, 2017. She was also survived by her two siblings, Catherine Montibello of Haverhill, and Francis McGravey of Methuen, as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition, Claire was also predeceased by her siblings, James, John, Vincent, Raymond, Patricia, and Joseph.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, January 2, 2021 from 9AM to 11 AM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street, Methuen, MA. A funeral service for Claire will be held on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at 11 AM, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in N. Andover, MA. Due to COVID-19 guidelines, face masks will be required at the funeral home and cemetery, and social distancing must be followed. If you have a health or other underlying concern, please do not attend. Claire’s family will understand and respect your decision.
