Marie "Cora" Girard's Obituary
Marie “Cora” (Mailly) Girard, 95 of Lawrence, passed away June 4, 2022 at Mary Immaculate Nursing and Restorative Center in Lawrence. She was the beloved wife of the late Lawrence R. Girard.
Cora was born October 3, 1926, the daughter of the late Leopold and Lucienne (Huard) Mailly. She attended St. Anne’s School in Lawrence and attended Lawrence High School. Cora worked as a supervisor at Paul Sullivan Sports Wear in Methuen for 15 years. She then worked at Wang Laboratories in Tewksbury until her retirement in 1989. She was a communicant at Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish/St. Theresa Church in Methuen. She was also an avid bowler and enjoyed gardening.
Cora will be deeply missed by her daughter, Karen A. Girard, of Methuen and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her 3 sisters, Doris Bradshaw, Shirley Cuomo, and Irene Mercier and her brother, John “Chicken” Mailly.
Family and friends will honor and celebrate Cora’s life by gathering for her calling hours, which will be celebrated from 4 to 7 PM on Thursday, June 9, 2022 at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street, Methuen. Her funeral service will be celebrated at 11 AM on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Methuen.
