Maria M. Fontaine Lostimolo's Obituary
Maria M. (Campanele) Fontaine Lostimolo, 97 of Methuen, passed away on January 6, 2019 at the Berkeley Retirement Home & Nursing Center in Lawrence. She was the beloved wife of the late Wilfred J. Fontaine and of the late Joseph Lostimolo.
Born in Lawrence on February 7, 1921, she was the daughter of Vincenzo and Irene (Masci) Campanele. She attended Worcester schools and worked as a store manager at Almy’s Department Store for 20 years until her retirement. She was also a member of the Methuen Senior Center. She was an established seamstress and enjoyed aerobics and fitness.
Maria will be deeply missed by her 3 daughters, Eugenie M. Fontaine of West Boylston, MA, Karen M. Jean and her husband, James of Port Charlotte, FL, and Denise M. Currier and her husband, David of Lawrence; 2 sisters, Stella Bendoris of Worcester and Carol Eagles of San Jose, CA; 7 grandchildren, Carrie Lynn Berube, Stacy Andrade, Joe Kaczynski, Danielle Jean, Phil Lostimolo, Jr., Jacob Lostimolo, and Stephanie Lostimolo; 9 great grandchildren, Tyler, Alexandra, Hayley, Codey, Nicholas, Kalli, Ella, Chris, and Emma; and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her sister, Josephine Tiscione, her 4 brothers, William, Benny, Bab's and Frank Campanale, and her son, Phillip Lostimolo.
Family and friends will honor and celebrate Maria’s life by gathering for her calling hours on Thursday, January 10, 2019 from 4 - 8 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street, Methuen. Her funeral service will take place at 11 AM on Friday at St. Patrick Church, 118 S. Broadway in Lawrence. Burial will follow at St. Mary/Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Lawrence. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Berkeley Retirement Home & Nursing Center, 150 Berkeley Street, Lawrence, MA 01841.
