Marguerite A. Rochette's Obituary
Marguerite A. (McAvoy) Rochette, affectionately known as “Peggy”, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, at Salem Haven Nursing Home in Salem, NH, at the age of 91. She was surrounded by the love and care of her family during her 4-month battle with declining health. Her legacy is one of love, dedication, and unwavering commitment to her family and community.
Peggy was born in Lawrence, MA, to Walter and Louise (Arlitt) McAvoy. After her graduation from Searles High School in Methuen, she embarked on a journey filled with love and devotion when she married the love of her life, Renald Rochette. Together, they shared 55 years of marriage, building a foundation of love and warmth that defined their family for generations.
She dedicated much of her life to nurturing and caring for children, fostering a spirit of kindness and compassion that touched the lives of many. Her involvement as an active parishioner in St. Monica Parish in Methuen reflected her deep-rooted faith and commitment. Her cherished memories included volunteering at the Methuen Senior Center, where her kindness and warmth brought joy to those around her. She had a passion for playing cards, cribbage, and both playing and calling bingo.
Peggy is predeceased by her beloved husband, Rocky; son, Renny; her parents and 10 siblings.
She is survived by her children, Denise Lessard and her husband, Gilbert of Auburn, NH, David Rochette and his wife, Susan of Salem, NH, and Janine Kissinger of Salem, NH; cherished grandchildren, Kristine Morse and her husband, Michael, Brian Collins and his wife, Theresa, Christopher Rochette and his wife, Allison, and Eric Kissinger and his wife, Amanda. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Aisling, Melissa, William, and Gavin, who were a source of immeasurable joy in her life. Additionally, she leaves behind Denise's stepchildren, Jayme Kaisi and her husband, James, Melanie Labonte and her husband, Keith, their daughter Alyssa, and Brian Lessard, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Her kindness, compassion, and love will be dearly missed and forever remembered in the hearts of all who knew her.
Relatives and guests are respectfully invited to attend calling hours on Monday, November 13, 2023, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street in Methuen. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at 11:00 AM at St. Monica Parish, 212 Lawrence Street in Methuen. Burial will follow at St. Mary-Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Lawrence. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to a charity of your choice in Peggy's honor.
