Marado M. Hancock Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Hampstead, NH- Marado M. Hancock, 91, died August 1st, 2009 at the Salemhaven Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Salem, NH. Marado was born July 6th, 1918 in Springfield, MA to Lucius and Lura (Norton) Goewey. She grew up in Bennington, VT. Following her marriage to Edward H.F. Hancock in Bennington, she resided in Medford and Saugus, MA, Brentwood, NH and Tavares, FL before moving to Hampstead, NH. Marado was a homemaker most of her life raising two daughters. She and her husband traveled throughout the US and loved taking cruises. She was an avid reader and loved music, sewing, knitting and crocheting, making many sweaters and afghans for family, friends and for a children?s cancer center in Florida. She was predeceased by her husband Edward H.F. Hancock and her daughter Jean F. Shepardson of Saugus, MA. Marado is survived by her daughter Margaret (Peggy) Howard and her husband Joseph L. of Derry, NH; two Grandsons, Steven E. Shepardson and his wife Tracy of Hampstead, NH and Joseph M. Howard and his wife Cara of Colorado Springs, CO, and two Granddaughters Susan J. Shepardson of Saugus, MA and Jennifer L. Langner and her husband Erik of Boulder, CO; four Great Grandchildren Daniel Shepardson, Paul Shepardson, Aidan Howard and Paige Howard and several nieces and nephews. ARRANGEMENTS: Family and friends may call on Thursday August 6th from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence St., Methuen, MA 01844. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday August 7th at 11 a.m. at St Monica?s 212 Lawrence St., Methuen, MA 01844. Burial will follow in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park 185 Lake Street, Peabody, MA 01960.
