Lucia Golio's Obituary
Lucia (Baviello) Golio, 86 of Methuen, passed away on Thursday, July 14, 2022 at the Holy Family Hospital in Methuen. She was the beloved wife of the late Frank Golio.
Lucia was born in Zungoli, Italy on October 17, 1935, the daughter of Joseph and Angelica (DeCicco) Baviello. She worked as a seamstress with Polo Ralph Lauren Factory in Lawrence for over 25 years until her retirement. Lucia enjoyed sewing and knitting. She had a green thumb and liked working in her garden. Her family, however, was most important to her.
Lucia will be deeply missed by her 3 children, Frank Golio and his wife, Deborah, of Merrimack, NH, Pina Johansen and her husband, Rob, of Haverhill, and Michael Golio and his wife, Michele, of Methuen; 4 grandchildren, Nick, Leah, Shawna, and Michael; several great grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Adeline Vergalitto of Yonkers, NY; several nieces and nephews; and many close friends.
Family and friends will honor and celebrate Lucia’s life by gathering for her calling hours, which will be from 4 – 7 PM on Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street, Methuen. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM on Thursday at St. Monica Parish, 212 Lawrence Street, Methuen. Burial will follow at St. Mary/Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Lawrence.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Lucia’s memory can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or at www.stjude.org.
