Lorraine C. Whitley

Lorraine C. (O’Neil) Whitley, 91, of Plaistow, NH, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at Penacook Place in Haverhill. Born in Haverhill, MA, she is the daughter of the late Harry and Fernand (Legare) O’Neil. Raised in Haverhill by her grandparents George and Josephine Legare, Lorraine was a graduate of St. James High School. She was devoted to building a loving home for her family and spending time together especially during vacations at Seabrook Beach and Lake Ossipee. Lorraine was active in the Young at Heart Club at the Salem Athletic Club where she enjoyed doing activities with her many friends especially dining and dancing at fine restaurants. After raising five children, she began a career at Jordan Marsh and Filene’s where she was passionate about providing her customers with the latest in fashion clothing. She served as a former communicant at St. Monica Church and Mary Queen of Peace Church. She is predeceased by her husband, Raymond J Whitley, Jr; sister, Mary Lemieux, and brother-in-law Sherwood Lemieux; her sons-in-law, Tom Rizzi, Scott Pearson, Richard Blinn, her grandchildren, Jay (age 6mos) and Kevin (age 19), and special friend, Vincent Swanson. Lorraine is survived by her beloved loving children, Raymond J Whitley, III and his wife, Natalia of Marion, Lynne Rizzi of Windham, CT, Patricia Pearson of Plaistow, NH, Teresa Keiser and her husband, Matthew of Plaistow, NH, Andrew Whitley and his wife, Carrie of Salem, NH and her sister-in-law, Mary Powers and her husband Paul Powers of the The Villages, FL. In addition, she leaves behind 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She was a loving aunt to several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the fine staff of Penacook Place for their outstanding care and love that they gave to Lorraine over the past few years especially during this year of COVID.
