Loretta Ann Cardone's Obituary
Loretta Ann Cardone (Ferraro), age 68 of Methuen, passed peacefully away on March 25th, 2020 surrounded by her loved ones at Nevins Nursing and Rehab Center after a yearlong battle with cancer.
Born on October 11th, 1951 in Lawrence, Massachusetts, Loretta was the daughter of the late Fiore “Phil” and Grace (Jalbert) Ferraro. In May of 1979, she married her husband, Ugo, of Sessa Aurunca, Italy. She then worked in the Methuen Public School system at the Tenney Grammar School for 31 years until her retirement in 2016.
She was best known by her friends and family for her kind nature and incredible cooking. Students, Faculty, Methuen Police, Family and Friends always flocked to her cafeteria or personal kitchen (as well as her “Meals on Wheels” personal delivery service) to find what delicious meal she conjured up that day, whether it was her famous Italian Wedding Soup, Meatball/Meat Pie Calzones, Italian Sauce with Stuffed Braciole, or other delicious classics. Besides cooking, she also enjoyed her relaxing time at the beaches of Maine and the mountains of New Hampshire. She enjoyed spending time with and watching her grandson Anthony (Loves him to the moon and back!) play all his sports and activities. She also enjoyed her road trips to Foxwoods with her sister Judy and her friends to play her favorite slot machines.
Loretta will be deeply missed by her pride and joy grandson Anthony, her son Philip, stepdaughter Cristina, stepson Thomas, and loving husband of 41 years, Ugo Cardone, all of Methuen, as well as her brother Angelo (Sunny) Ferraro and wife Carolyn of Ellsworth, Maine. She is predeceased by her brother Anthony (Butch) Ferraro and her sister Julia Ferraro.
Per the family’s request, there will be no services at this time. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a memorial donation in Loretta’s name to the American Cancer Society or to Autism Speaks.
