Loren "Larry" Magoon's Obituary
Loren C. “Larry” Magoon, died on Wednesday, May 7, 2025 at his home surrounded by his family.
Loren was born in North Andover, MA on December 20, 1939 and was the son of the late James and Stacia (Huminick) Magoon.
Loren was raised in Lawrence, MA. He started his career as a local truck driver for S.H. Brennan. He then worked as a fabricator for Craig Systems in Lawrence. He then work for Coating Systems Inc in Lowell where he returned to road as a delivery truck driver until his retirement in 2003. He really enjoyed his daily routes, listening to sports radio and talking with everyone he met at his stops. He loved to drive his truck during the day and go for day trips with the family to Maine, the Cape or along the Kangcamagus on the weekends.
He was an avid fan of the Red Sox and Patriots. He enjoyed many games at Fenway. Win or lose, he just loved being at the Park. He was easy going and could strike up a conversation with anyone, especially when it came to sports or cars. He really liked just talking to people. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family. Cookouts and holidays with the family was where he was most happy.
Loren was the beloved husband of 61 years to Pauline T. (Therrien) Magoon. He was the loving father of Mark L. Magoon of Bradford, MA, Lisa M. Horton and her husband Adrian of Concord, NH. and Scott J. Magoon and his wife Erin of New Hampton, NH. He was the cherished grandfather of Nicholas, Andrew, Katelynn and Ryan Magoon, and the late Daniel Pellitier, Jr. He was the brother of Marion St. Jean of FL., and the late James Magoon and his wife Carol of FL., and the late Chrissy Magoon. He is also survived by his 10 great-grandchildren.
A visitation for relatives and friends will be held in the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence St., Methuen on Tuesday, May 13, 2025 from 4-7pm with a Funeral Service following in the funeral home at 7pm. Burial will be private.
