Linda A. (Arlequeeuw) Desjardins' Obituary
Derry, New Hampshire – Linda A. (Arlequeeuw) Desjardins, 93, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on December 27, 2019 at Parkland Medical Center.
Linda was born in Lawrence, MA on April 21, 1926, moved to Eeklo, Belgium for a short time as a young girl and then returned back to Lawrence where she would stay for the next 74 years. Although Linda loved her country, she never lost her pride or love of Belgium and proudly wore the Belgian colors every chance she got. She was the loving daughter of Alfons and Germaine Arlequeeuw and was a graduate of Lawrence High School.
For more than 40 years, Linda worked as a telephone operator at AT&T. She bravely fought and conquered every obstacle and illness life threw her way and by doing so, instilled a foundation of strength and determination to those around her. Linda faithfully and happily attended every family party and was the bond that kept the family ties close and strong.
Linda‘s greatest joy was being surrounded by her daughters, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was the matriarch of the family and gave unwavering support and comfort. Linda was predeceased by her beloved brother Willy F. Arlequeeuw and will be sadly missed by: her daughters Donna (Desjardins) and her husband Daniel Cain; Ann (Desjardins) and the late Francis Frechette; her grandchildren Scott Cain and his companion Leigh Wolnik, Nicole (Cain) Johnson, Shauna (Frechette) and her husband Mark Andrade, Shari (Frechette) and her husband TJ Sullivan; several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and her longtime pet Snuggles.
