Lillian M. Reed's Obituary
Lawrence – Lillian M. (Bissett) Reed, 91 of Lawrence, passed away on Sunday, October 29, 2017 at her home. She was the beloved wife of Joseph Reed, to whom she was married for 50 years.
Born in Lawrence on August 18, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Peter T. and Jessie (Sword) Bissett. Lee was educated in Andover public schools. She graduated from Punchard High School in Andover. In her free time, she enjoyed gymnastics, swimming, sewing, music, dancing, flowers, and birdwatching.
Lee will be deeply missed by her husband, Joseph; her 2 beloved children, Donnajean Decker and her husband, Stephen A. of Windham, NH and Cheryl Hazelton of Amesbury; 9 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and 10 great-great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her beloved son, Curtis Mark “Smokey” Hazelton.
Family and friends will honor and celebrate Lee’s life by gathering for calling hours at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street in Methuen on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 from 4 - 8 PM. Her funeral service will take place at 11 AM on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery in Salem, NH.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Association, 60 Walnut Street, Wellesley, MA 02481.
