Lilian J. (Gunter) Zakia, 96 of Methuen, peacefully passed away on Friday, April 12, 2024, at her daughter’s home, surrounded by the warmth of her loving family. She now rests in eternal peace alongside her late husband, Theodore Read Obituary
We have known Lilian since I first came to the Center... She worked in the thrift shop, then took over as manager. She also shared her story on "Call to Serve", the veterans' history project at MCTV, of living through the blitz in London during WWII. She was a great person to know and was considered a friend. I have only known Lilian for about 3 and half years since my father passed away. Lilian was my father's cousin and he aways talked about her so fondly. Since we started chatting on messenger, I had grown very fond of Lilian. I used to enjoy our chats, as we used to share stories about our families. She loved her family so dearly and her holidays with her daughters.
I am really going to miss her. At least now she is with her husband and son, which she missed so much.
