Leonor A. (Casey) Pekarski's Obituary
Leonor A. (Casey) Pekarski, 86, longtime resident of Methuen, passed away on April 8, 2018 at the Dodge Park Rest Home in Worcester, MA surrounded by her devoted family. Born to the late John and Agnes (Murphy) Casey in Methuen, she graduated from St. Mary’s High School with the Class of 1949. Lee married the love of her life, Bernard Pekarski, on August 14, 1955. A devout Catholic, she attended St. Augustine’s Chapel on Tower Hill for many years. Lee worked for over four decades at Arlington Trust Bank before retiring to her home at Pawtuckaway Lake, Nottingham, NH. A talented artist, Lee’s paintings won numerous awards. She touched many lives in many different circles and will be fondly cherished, loved, and missed by all.
Always selfless and generous, she was the beloved matriarch of her family. Leonor is survived by her five daughters: Diane (Whelan), Ann Marie (and her husband Keith Hill), Donna McCarthy, Lynn Pekarski and Paula Tilton Brucato. She was a devoted grandmother to Bryan, Courtney, Matthew, Mark, Casey, Kelsey, Nicholas, Jeremy and Megan and great-grandmother to Max, Mason, Maddox, Colton and Benjamin. Lee was the cherished sister of Kathleen (Carter), Joan (Stewart), John, and Bob. Her sister Joyce (Hickey) preceded her in death. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. Leonor was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Bernard, with whom she celebrated 50 years of marriage until his passing in 2004.
Visitation for Leonor will be held on her birthday Wednesday, April 11, 2018 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street, Methuen. Friends and family are cordially invited to attend. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, April 12, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Good Counsel / St. Augustine’s Chapel, 1045 Essex St, Lawrence, MA. Interment to follow at St. Mary Immaculate Conception Cemetery, 29 Barker St, Lawrence. To leave online condolences please visit www.pollardfuneralhome.com.
