Leonard D. Boddy II's Obituary
Leonard Donald Boddy II passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 16th in Nokomis, Florida. Leonard was born on June 24, 1948 to the late Rosella M. (Shumate) and Leonard D. Boddy Sr. in Lawrence, MA.
Len graduated from Central Catholic High School in Lawrence and attended Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston. He went on to marry Bernadette A. Barnes of Quincy, MA. Len and Bernadette lovingly raised two sons and a daughter. They were long-time New Hampshire residents, spending many years in Atkinson before moving to the New Hampshire seacoast.
A hard-working family man, Len was the proud owner of Northeast Crane service in Methuen, MA. Len spent his entire life working in the crane and rigging business. He was known and respected by many in the crane industry throughout New England, and took pride in the men and women he led each day.
In addition to his parents, Len was predeceased by his sister, Geraldine Coorey.
He is survived by his loving wife, Bernadette (Barnes) Boddy of Nokomis, FL. He also leaves behind his son, Leonard Donald Boddy III of Amesbury; daughter, Lauren Boddy of Rochester, NH; and son, Scott Boddy and his wife, Molly of Amherst, NH; a brother Barry Boddy, and three grandchildren, including Ryan Boddy of North Reading; as well many nieces, nephews, and friends who will all feel his loss.
Family and friends will honor and celebrate Leonard’s life by gathering for his calling hours on Friday, December 2, 2022, from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street in Methuen. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 3, 2022 at St. Monica Parish, 212 Lawrence Street, Methuen.
