Leo A. Dubois' Obituary
Leo A. Dubois, 80, of South Lawrence, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, April 27, 2026.
He was the beloved husband of Pauline (Thibault) Dubois, with whom he shared 55 devoted years of marriage.
Born in Lawrence on November 1, 1945, Leo was the son of the late Arthur J. and Yvonne M. (Catineau) Dubois. A proud graduate of Lawrence High School, Class of 1965, he continued his education at Wentworth College in Boston and earned an associate’s degree from the University of Lowell. Leo answered the call to service, honorably serving his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
Throughout his professional life, Leo demonstrated exceptional skill and dedication as a technician. He worked for more than 20 years at Lucent Technologies. He later owned and operated Leo’s VCR Service, and served as an electronics technician with Rochester Electronics in Newburyport, MA until his retirement. A lifelong enthusiast of technology, he took particular pride in repairing early computers that once occupied entire rooms.
Leo cherished spending time with his family above all else. He was an avid fisherman, enjoying both lake and deep-sea fishing. He was well known in his South Lawrence neighborhood as a skilled handyman who, together with his two close friends, would readily assist with any repairs needed. The group affectionately called themselves “the Three Musketeers.” Leo was a dedicated bowler and a fixture in local leagues, bowling every Tuesday and Friday for over 60 years. He also enjoyed playing the card game Forty-Fives and remained a passionate Boston sports fan. In his leisure time, he found enjoyment in skiing and horseshoes as well.
Leo will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Pauline; his daughter, Andrea Carroll and her husband, Gregory, of Salem, NH; his brother, Paul Dubois of Mason, NH; his two cherished grandchildren, Douglas Carroll and Kourtney Carroll; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Douglas Dubois, and his brothers, Arthur and Robert Dubois.
Family and friends are invited to honor and celebrate Leo’s life during calling hours on Monday, May 4, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Methuen Family Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street, Methuen, Massachusetts. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at 11:00 AM at St. Patrick Church, 118 S. Broadway, Lawrence, Massachusetts.
