Leo J. Cooper's Obituary
Leo J. Cooper, 81 of Derry NH, passed away on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at Parkland Medical Center in Derry. He was the beloved husband of the late Janice C. (Cote) Cooper.
Born in Lawrence, MA on October 10, 1936, he was the son of the late Clarence and Cora (Tellier) Cooper. Leo proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He worked as an iron worker foreman for Process Engineering in Plaistow, NH for over 40 years until his retirement. In his free time, Leo enjoyed bowling, gambling, and playing Bingo.
Leo will be deeply missed by his 6 children, James Cooper and his wife, Carol of Kittery Point, ME, Robert Cooper and his wife, Dorothy of Kingston, NH, Arthur Cooper and his wife, Kathleen of Derry, Jeannie Cooper of Salem, NH, Jeffery Cooper of Derry, and Tracy Cooper of Derry; 9 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; his sister, Dorothy Cooper of Merrimack, MA; and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his sister, Joan Haynes.
Family and friends will honor and celebrate Leo’s life by gathering for calling hours at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street in Methuen on Tuesday, October 31, 2017 from 10 – 11 AM. His funeral service will take place at 11 AM on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at St. Mary/Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Lawrence.
