Kenneth Courteau's Obituary
Kenneth Courteau, 70, lifelong resident of Methuen passed away April 7, 2019 after a brief illness at Saint Elizabeth’s Medical Center surrounded by his devoted family. Born on May 7, 1948 to the late Ludger and Mabel (Shrigley) Courteau, he was raised and educated in Methuen, graduating from Tenney High School with the “Class of 1966.” A decorated veteran, after high school, Kenneth felt the call of service and enlisted in the US Navy serving during the Vietnam War. After his service to our country, he worked for many years as a union glazier, belonging to Painters & Allied Trades District Council #35, and owned Dracut Glass & Screen. A devoted family man, Kenneth loved boating, snowmobiling, golf and enjoyed making stained glass art during his free time. Kenneth touched many lives in many different circles and will fondly be loved, cherished and missed by all.
Kenneth is survived by his two sons; David Courteau and his wife Elizabeth of Derry, NH and Daniel Courteau and his wife Star of Methuen. He is also the proud grandfather to Alexia Courteau and Jackson Courteau. In addition to his parents, Kenneth was preceded in death by his beloved bride, Mary C. (Gibney) Courteau in February, 2016.
Visitation for Kenneth will be held on Thursday, April 11, 2019 from 4 – 7:30 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street, Methuen. Friends and family are cordially invited to attend. A funeral service will be held at the conclusion of calling hours at the funeral home. To honor Kenneth’s wishes, interment will be private. Contributions in Kenneth’s memory can be made to Elder Services of the Merrimack Valley, 280 Merrimack St, Suite 400, Lawrence, MA 01843. The Kenneth H.
