Kathleen "Kathie" Sharpe's Obituary
Kathleen “Kathie” Sharpe, 66 of Hampstead, NH, passed away peacefully on Friday January 18, 2019 at the High Pointe Hospice House in Haverhill, MA after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Methuen, MA on April 8, 1952, Kathie was the daughter of William and Rita (Morrison) Daly. Kathie was raised in Lawrence, MA. She attended both St. Patrick’s Grammar School and was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School in Lawrence, MA. Kathie was a devoted daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend and was at her happiest when surrounded by her family. Kathie worked in the banking industry for over 40 years at First Essex Savings Bank in Lawrence, MA and The Savings Bank in Wakefield, MA and was a true role model for the young women then and now. Kathie retired at 62 and spent the next 4 years lovingly caring for her grandchildren each and every week. Kathie loved spending any free time tending to her beautiful flower garden and reading by her pool in the sun.
Kathie will be deeply missed by her son Robert Sharpe Jr and his wife Jessica Sharpe of Windham, NH; her daughter Allyson Spanks and her husband Jay Spanks of North Andover, MA; her four grandchildren Julia Sharpe, Bobby Sharpe, Isaiah Spanks and Gabriel Spanks; her sister Maureen Creeley and her husband William Creeley of Salem, NH; her sister Ann Marie Martin and her husband Jim Martin of Dracut, MA; her brother Jimmy Daly and his wife Alana Daly of Kingston, NH; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Kathie was predeceased by her brother William Daly and her parents William and Rita Daly.
Family and friends will honor and celebrate Kathie’s life by gathering on Thursday, January 24, 2019 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence St. Methuen. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, January 25, 2019 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Good Counsel-St. Theresa’s Parish, 22 Plymouth St. Methuen. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. Kathie’s family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff at the Dana Farber Community Cancer Center in Methuen, especially to Dr. Ankhur Mehta, and to the staff at Merrimack Valley Hospice/High Pointe Hospice House for the exceptional care and compassion they all provided.
