Justine R. Butterworth's Obituary
Justine R. (Thibault) Butterworth, age 91, of Salem, NH, passed away Saturday, January 28, 2023, at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen surrounded by her loving family.
Justine was born on June 6, 1931, in Methuen to the late Edmond and Reine (Beaulieu) Thibault. She had many fond memories of growing up in a large but close knit family. Justine married her high school sweetheart and the love of her life, Bill, in June 1953 and spent nearly 70 years as the best of friends. They were blessed with three children; Kenneth, Elaine, and Daniel.
Besides her role as homemaker, she worked for many years as an accounts payable clerk. She was a woman of boundless energy and talents. Justine was an accomplished artist and seamstress. In her retirement years, she and Bill enjoyed summers in Wells, Maine, and winters in Largo, Florida, and travel with family and friends. She was an avid reader, loved her walks with Bill, and her card playing and Mahjong at the Salem Senior Center.
She was predeceased by her brothers, Paul, Robert, Rene, Ernest; and her sister, Claire.
Justine will be deeply missed by her husband, Bill Butterworth; her son, Kenneth Butterworth and his wife, Lynne; her daughter, Elaine Sirois and her husband, Steve; and her son, Daniel Butterworth and his wife, Karen; six grandchildren, Aimee, Timothy, Ryan, Jeffrey, Andrew, and Joshua; and three great-grandchildren, Hannah, Lea, and Louis. In addition, she will be deeply missed by her sister, Ernestine; her brother, Normand; and sister-in-law, Betty; as well as her numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Relatives and guests are invited to attend calling hours on Saturday, February 4, 2023, from 9:30 until 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Good Counsel/St. Theresa's Parish, 22 Plymouth Street in Methuen. A funeral mass will be held immediately following calling hours at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations in Justine’s memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
