June Stacy's Obituary
June Stacy passed away peacefully on Saturday December 2, 2023 at home with her family by her side ending her seven year illness with Alzheimer’s Disease.
June was born on September 6, 1950 in Lawrence MA to John R Kelley and Josephine Kelley. She attended Lawrence High School and graduated from the University of Massachusetts Lowell in 1972 with a degree in teaching. June married her high school sweetheart, Michael Stacy on June 11, 1972 and raised two loving children, Michael Jr. and Kelley.
June spent her entire teaching career in the Town of Methuen, retiring from her position as a fourth grade teacher at the Comprehensive Grammar School. June loved her career as a teacher and the lifelong friendships she developed. Even after retirement, June missed the classroom and returned to the schools as a part time tutor.
June most enjoyed spending time with her family and traveling. In her retirement years, June and Mike spent as much of their time traveling as possible to escape the winter months. Their favorite destinations included Florida, Hawaii and the Caribbean.
June and Mike spent summers at their second home in Cape Neddick Maine, enjoying the ocean view from their trailer, always surrounded by friends and family. June’s six grandchildren loved their trips to the campground to collect sea glass with Nana.
June was able to remain at home throughout her illness due to the efforts of her husband Mike and the dedicated staff at Silverthorne Day Care who treated June like family. The love and happiness they provided on a daily basis brought great joy to the last chapter of June’s life.
June is survived by her husband, Michael Stacy of Dracut, her son, Michael Stacy Jr. of New Hampshire, her daughter, Kelley Lussier and husband, Edward Lusssier of Dracut, and her six grandchildren, Taylor Stacy, Andrew Lussier, MacKenzie Stacy, Bryce Stacy, Rachel Lussier, and Brooke Stacy.
There will be no services, as the family is having a small celebration of life. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in June’s memory can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at https://act.alz.org. The Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street, Methuen is honored to serve the Stacy family.
