Jozef S. Lewandowski's Obituary
Jozef "Joe" Lewandowski, 82, of Methuen, MA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen after battling a long illness. He was born on November 25, 1941, in Swiety Jozef, Poland, and immigrated to the United States in 1965. Joe was a long-time resident of Methuen, MA.
Joe was predeceased by his late beloved wife, Adel. He is survived by his sons, Mark and Raymond, and Raymond's wife, Vivianne. Additionally, he is survived by his grandchildren, Tyler and Chali. Joe is also survived by his brother, John (Gene) of Tewksbury, and his sister, Lydia of Whitefield, NH. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Joe trained as a baker in Poland and worked part-time in several bakeries in the Lawrence area for many years. He was also a dedicated employee at Malden Mills for a long time. Additionally, Joe worked at Watts Regulator, Medtronic, and Commonwealth Motors before retiring in 2007. In his free time, he enjoyed traveling, gardening, and playing chess, and he loved pets of all kinds.
In honoring Joe’s wishes, there will be no calling hours. Family and friends will honor and celebrate Joe’s life by gathering for his Mass of Christian Burial, which will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at St. Monica Church, 212 Lawrence Street, Methuen. Guests are kindly asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will follow at Bellevue Cemetery in Lawrence.
