Joseph A. Leone III's Obituary
“Wherever you go, there you are.” That is what Joe always said and he was a man of few, but wise words. Joseph A. Leone III, age 71 of Methuen passed away on September 24, 2018 at Lahey Hospital in Burlington. Joe was born in Lawrence on November 18, 1946 to the late Joseph and Lorraine (Gallant) Leone, Jr. Joe was a proud graduate of Central Catholic High School and Northern Essex Community College. He was a prominent builder in the community and once named Builder of the Year by the North East Builders Association of MA. He was a former owner of Leone Oil in Lawrence and Methuen and Partyrama in Salem, Plaistow, and Derry, NH. He was involved with his community, serving as Chairman of the Methuen Planning Board and he also was a former city councilor in Methuen. His hobbies included golf, car building and car racing, and spending time with his boisterous family.
Joe was the beloved husband of Theresa (LaBelle) Leone of Methuen with whom he shared 49 years of loving marriage. He was the devoted father of Elisa and her husband Christopher Jordan of Methuen, Bridgette and her husband Richard Pacheco of Methuen, and Christine and her husband Adam Hamel of Methuen. Joe leaves 7 grandchildren: Kellen and Aidan Jordan; Gabriella, Alexandra, and Brian Pacheco; and Jack and William Leone-Hamel. Joe was also brother to Ken Leone of Methuen and Celeste and her husband Richard Ulrich, of Williston, Florida. Joe also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, a large extended family and many friends. The family would like to extend their most sincere gratitude to the staff at Lahey Hospital for all the care Joe received while he was a patient there.
Friends and guests are invited to call on Thursday, September 27, 2018 from 4 PM until 8 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence St. Methuen. A funeral service will be at 11:30 AM on Friday, September 28 at the Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Elmwood Cemetery of Methuen. Memorial funds may be made to Mary Immaculate Nursing Center, 172 Lawrence St. Lawrence, MA 01841.
