Joseph P. Donohue's Obituary
Joseph Donohue at age 95 passed away peacefully after a brief illness at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen, MA on Wednesday, March 13, 2024.
Joseph Donohue was born in Methuen, MA on May 26, 1928. He now joins the love of his life, Marcelle, to whom he was married for 71 years. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was employed by Raytheon for 37 years. Joseph, “Papa Joe”, spent much of his retirement traveling and summering in Kennebunk, Maine. He was a lifelong Red Sox Fan and an avid walker. His greatest joy was getting together with family and going out to breakfast, and go for walks.
He is survived by his son, Paul Donohue, and his wife, Pam, of Merrimack, NH; his daughter, Kathy McAvoy, and her husband, Scott, of Derry, NH; granddaughters, Kerri Maunsell, and her husband, Joe, and Molly McAvoy and her husband, Mark Robillard of Auburn, NH; great-granddaughter Riley Maunsell of Methuen, MA; his brother, Charles, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Marcelle, his son, Wayne, his brothers, Stephen and Jack and his sisters, Ann and Mary.
At the request of the family, services will be private. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
