Jolyn E. Burdin's Obituary
Jolyn E. Burdin, 71, of Methuen, passed away Friday, May 1, 2026, at Boston Medical Center in Brighton. Born on September 16, 1954, in Methuen, MA, she was the daughter of the late William C. Burdin and Eleanor M. (Demers) Burdin.
Raised and educated in Methuen, Jolyn was a graduate of Presentation of Mary Academy High School and Castle Secretarial School. She later attended Rivier College, where she earned a paralegal degree. She began her career at Wang Laboratories and went on to work for over 30 years at the William T. Burdin Law Office in Salem, NH.
Jolyn found joy in crafting, caring for others, especially her parents, and spending time with her family, frequently doting on her many nieces and nephews. She was a devoted and lifelong parishioner of St. Monica Parish. This included serving as an Ecumenical Minister and active member in the St. Vincent de Paul Society and the Lady’s Sodality. She helped her community as a member of the Quota Club of Salem, NH and as a member of the Board of Directors for Castle Secretarial School.
She will always be remembered for her kindness, generosity and zest for life and her hearty laughter. Her welcoming personality often allowed those in stressful circumstances to relax.
In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her brother, Richard W. Burdin.
She is lovingly survived by and will be forever missed by her brothers, William T. Burdin (and Jo-Ann) of Windham, NH, and Keith W. Burdin of Methuen; sister –in-law Lyndall Burdin; nieces and nephews, Jessica Burdin, Jared Burdin, Leslie Kennedy, Christopher Burdin, Matthew Burdin, Scott Burdin, and Samantha Burdin. She also leaves several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Family and friends are invited to honor and celebrate Jolyn’s life during calling hours on Monday, May 11, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Methuen Family Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street, Methuen, MA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 12th, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Monica Parish, 212 Lawrence Street, Methuen, MA. Burial will follow at St. Mary-Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Lawrence.
