I was so very sad to hear the news of John's passing. We were great running buddies when I worked in Methuen for 13 years. John was so kind, a great conversationalist and a great athlete. He spoke often about his family and the granddaughter he adored, I knew from his stories, he was loved well. John was part of my 'workout' family (fitclub, cross fit, Lynnwoods running club, etc.). He convinced me to do biathlons and road races and never missed a beat. He was up for any challenge, and he always beat me! Except for that one day when I passed him on my bike and finished ahead of him. We both couldn't believe it! But soon after we examined his bike and realized there was an issue with his tire! He both laughed, my victory was short lived. I moved back to Nova Scotia 8 years ago and often look at old pictures of my USA adventures, of which John was part of many. It was such a blessing to know him. Sending hugs to you all, and heart felt prayers, I do hope that the memories of your time together bring comfort. My deepest condolences. - Peggy Gordon
