John J. Conneely's Obituary
The death has occurred of John Joe Conneely, 62, Methuen, Massachusetts, formerly of Inis Mor Aran islands Co Galway on April 16th surrounded by his family.
John Joe spent years navigating the waters on fishing boats, where he found solace and joy in the rhythm of the sea; he transitioned into his next adventure as an 18-wheel truck driver. With the same steady hand and determination that once guided boats through stormy seas, he spent his later years guiding his big rig across many highways, always enjoying the peaceful and rhythmic hum of the road. Whether on the water or the asphalt, John Joe always embraced the adventure and now, as he takes his final journey, with the steering wheel back in his hands and the open road ahead, it is as he would have wanted.
Sadly missed and deeply mourned by his beloved wife, Pat, who took such tremendous care of him during his illness. His children, Deirdra and her husband, Jeremy, Brian and his wife, Sarah; step children, Vanessa and her husband, Scott, Neil and his wife, Francessca, and Brad and his partner, Kristina. His mother, Bridie; siblings, Mike and his wife, Breege, Breda and her husband, Glenn, Gerry and his wife, Rosie; and brother-in-law, Des; grandchildren, Liana, Evan, Collins, Casey, Marisa, Noah, Valentina, Alessandra, and Abigail; nieces and nephews, Ronan, Ailish, Darragh, Rachael, Aideen, Ailbhe and Aoife; grandnephew, Rían; his extended family, and many friends.
Welcomed into heaven by his father, John, sister, Bernie, and step son, Ross.
John Joe's laughter and charm will be forever in our hearts.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to calling hours from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Monday, April 27, 2026 at the Methuen Family Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street in Methuen. Burial will be held at a later date.
