Sr. Joan St. Laurent's Obituary
Sr. Joan St. Laurent, age 98 passed away peacefully on July 17, 2018 at the St. Claire Residence of the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary. Sr. Joan was born in St. Onesime, Quebec, Canada on June 25, 1920 to the late Joseph A. and Aurore (Dube) St. Laurent. She was educated at St. Ignatius Grammar School in Sanford Maine and Stella Maris School in Biddeford, ME. Sr. Joan graduated high school in Canada and received her Bachelor’s Degree from Rivier University in Nashua, NH. She was a long time teacher at the Presentation of Mary Academy in Methuen for over thirty years. Sr. Joan taught both English and Latin classes. She was beloved by all of her students. Sr. Joan also enjoyed gardening.
Sr. Joan was the dear sister of Lorraine Ashworth, Louise Thibodeau, Claire Guillemette, Madeline Bucklin, the late Roger St. Laurent, and the late Lionel St. Laurent and his surviving wife Suzanne.
Friends and guests are invited to call on Monday, July 23, 2018 from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM at the St. Claire Resident of the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary, 206 Lawrence St. Methuen. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at 10:00 AM at the Chapel of the Presentation of Mary, 206 Lawrence St. Methuen.
