Joan M. Park's Obituary
Joan M. Park, age 91 formerly of Sandown, NH passed away peacefully on February 18, 2023 at the Mary Immaculate Facility in Lawrence, MA surrounded by family. Joan was born at the Clover Hill Hospital in Lawrence, MA on November 20, 1931 to the late Henry and Mary Green. She was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School. After raising 7 children she went back to school attending the Greater Lawrence Vocational School where she obtained her LPN license. Joan then worked as an LPN at various nursing homes throughout the Merrimack Valley. She enjoyed knitting, cooking, gardening, camping, listening to music and spending time with lifelong friends and her family whom she adored. Joan was a lover of animals and throughout her life always had an abundance of pets. Following her retirement, Joan volunteered at the Sandown 60+ Club, Sandown Senior Affairs Transportation Program (providing rides for seniors) and the Lawrence General Hospital Thrift Shop.
Joan was the beloved wife of the late John Park. She was the devoted mother of Gary Park and his wife Brenda, Stephen Park, Marybeth Park and her partner Carol McLeod, Kathleen Richardson and her husband Keith, Christopher Park and his wife Julie, Heather Lane and her husband Brian, and the late John Park, Jr. (Jackie). Joan was the loving grandmother of Jennifer Park, Ian Park, Andrea Park, Ashley Park, Sarah O’Shea, Hannah Richardson, Thompson Lane and Audrey Lane. She was the cherished great-grandmother of six and great-great grandmother to one.
Friends and guests are invited to call on Friday, February 24, 2023 from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence St. Methuen. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at 11:00 AM at St. Monica’s Parish, 212 Lawrence St. Methuen. Interment will be private at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Joan’s memory may be made to the MSPCA-Nevins Farm, 400 Broadway Methuen, MA 01844.
