Joan E. Chase's Obituary
Joan Eileen (Baker) Chase, 75 of Andover, passed away on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at Academy Manor Nursing Home in Andover. She was the beloved wife of the late Richard Bernard Chase.
Joan was born in Methuen on October 15, 1946, the daughter of the late George and Helen (Unick) Baker. She graduated from Tenney High School, class of 1964. She then graduated with an associate’s degree from the Chandler School for Women in Boston. She worked as a records clerk at the Holy Family Hospital in Methuen, where she volunteered at the Cancer Center. Joan enjoyed music and dancing. She was an avid Boston sports fan. She was very selfless with her elders and was a proud grandmother. She loved spending time at Salisbury Beach and also loved animals.
Joan will be deeply missed by her 2 sons, Brian J. Chase of Iowa City, IA and Michael R. Chase of Methuen; her daughter, Wendy Chase of Londonderry, NH; 2 grandchildren, Joseph Parker Chase and Samantha Courtney Chase; and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her brother, George Baker II.
Family and friends will honor and celebrate Joan’s life by gathering for her graveside service, which will be celebrated at 9 AM on Monday, June 27, 2022 at St. Mary/Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Lawrence. Guests are kindly asked to meet directly at the cemetery.
