Jeannine Therese Arvanitis' Obituary
Jeannine (Cyr) Arvanitis, 83, of Methuen, passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2019, surrounded by her loving sons.
The daughter of the late Levite and Anna (Picard) Cyr, Jeannine was born in Madawaska, Maine on January 24, 1936. She was one of 13 children. She graduated high school and moved at a young age to Connecticut to be with her sister in order to obtain employment. She later moved to Lawrence and then to Methuen where she resided for the remainder of her life, raising her three boys single-handedly after the death of her first husband.
Jeannine worked for numerous electronic companies as a jobber. She then worked at Lucent Technology where she retired after 20 years. Besides being a homemaker, she was a caregiver to all those in need. Jeannine was a very strong, loving person who possessed many wonderful qualities. Her greatest passion were her grandchildren who brought her so much joy and happiness. She loved dancing and hosting Sunday meals and holidays for family and friends. A caring and generous person, she was kind beyond words. Most of all, Jeannine was a loving and devoted mother, wife, grandmother and friend. Her sons will always remember the wonderful outings at the beach and her zest for life.
She will be sadly missed by her family and close friends Mabel Dumont and Irene Begin.
Jeannine was preceded in death by her husband, John Arvanitis, nine siblings, and her dear friend, Beaula Daigle.
Jeannine is lovingly remembered and survived by her three sons, Wayne Daigle, of Lowell, Gregory Daigle, of Methuen, and Rodney Daigle and his wife Melinda of Derry, NH, five grandchildren, Zachary, Jordan, Eric, Alyssa, and Victoria Daigle, three siblings, Lionel Cyr of Minnesota, Joel Cyr of Connecticut, and Cora Cyr Williams of Florida, sisters-in-law, Jean Daigle, of Lawrence and Linda Arvanitis of Methuen, and many nieces and nephews.
