Jeanette Donnelly's Obituary
Jeanette (Mackin) Donnelly, 82 of Methuen, passed away on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at Lawrence General Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late James H. Donnelly.
Jeanette was born in Glasgow, Scotland on May 30, 1939, the daughter of the late James and Catherine (Harris) Mackin. She emigrated to the U.S. at the age of 23. She worked at Raytheon Co. for many years until her retirement in 1999. She was a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians in Lawrence and the Methuen Senior Center.
After retirement, She enjoyed spending time with her two cherished granddaughters, Shannon and Meghan. Also, she loved to gamble and socialize with her many dear friends and family entertaining them with the skit of Joe and the Button Factory. She was always the life of the party.
She is predeceased by her ten siblings, five sisters and five brothers.
Jeanette will be deeply missed by her loving daughter, Kathleen Ryan and her husband, John “Colie”and their two daughters, Shannon and Meghan Ryan, all of Methuen; son, James Donnelly and his wife, Sandra and their children and grandchildren, all of Pembroke, NH; son, Matthew Miele and his wife, Danielle and their two children from CA; her sister-in-law, Mary (Donnelly) Sheehy of Methuen; brother-in-law, Joseph Donnelly and his wife, Rita of FL. In addition, she also leaves nieces and nephews both here in the states and in Scotland.
Family and friends will honor and celebrate Jeanette’s life by gathering for her Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM on Monday, January 10, 2022 at St. Monica’s Parish, 212 Lawrence Street in Methuen. Guests are kindly asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will follow at St. Mary-Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Lawrence.
