Jean Paul "JP" Roberge's Obituary
Jean Paul “JP” Roberge, a longtime resident of Methuen, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at the High Pointe House in Haverhill with his loving family by his side. JP was born in Biddeford, ME to the late Wilfred and Marie Louise (Cormier) Roberge. JP served in the Navy in the Pacific theater during World War II, and returned home to marry his loving wife of 60 years, Pauline (Mercier) who passed on Dec 22, 2007. JP and Pauline are survived by their children, Diane and her husband Ronald Berube of Lawrence, MA, Denise and her husband Frederic Pepin of Franklin, TN, Jocelyn and her husband Philippe Lantagne of Pelham, NH, and Steven Roberge and his wife Christine of Cambridge, MA. JP’s grandchildren are Kristyn Lantagne Mattke and her husband David of Windham NH, Michelle Berube and her partner John Cornejo of Lawrence, MA, Mark Lantagne and his wife Bristol of Kilauea, HI, Adrien Pepin of Franklin, TN, and Adam Roberge of Melrose, MA. JP’s great grandchildren are Arianna Berube of Lawrence, MA, Jaxson Lantagne, of Kilauea, HI, Camden Cornejo of Lawrence, MA and Cora Mattke of Windham. He was also predeceased by 2 grandchildren, Philippe Lantagne Jr., and Marissa Pepin.
JP was predeceased by his twin brother Richard Roberge of Old Orchard Beach, ME, and his sisters Pauline Cadorette of Biddeford, ME, and Juliette Roberge of Biddeford, ME.
JP worked in Production Control for more than 30 years at Raytheon from which he retired. In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time with his family. He also enjoyed walking, gardening, skating, going to the beach, and rooting for the Red Sox, among other hobbies. He led an active life right up to his 94th birthday and was a popular resident at both Greystone Farm in Salem NH, and Methuen Village Assisted Living Facilities. JP had a great sense of humor which never left him, He was even telling jokes to the Emergency Room staff when his final illness forced him into the hospital. He will be greatly missed. The family would like to extend our profound thanks to the staff at High Pointe House Hospice for the loving and compassionate care they provided.
Friends and guests are invited to call on Sunday, March 31, 2019 from 1:00 PM until 5:00 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence St. Methuen. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, April 1, 2019 at 9:00 AM at Our Lady of Good Counsel-St. Theresa’s Parish, 22 Plymouth St. Methuen. Interment to follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery.
