Janis P. Salesi's Obituary
Janis P. Salesi, age 72 of Lawrence passed away on December 10, 2020. Janis was born in Methuen on March 14, 1948 to the late Rocco and Frances Gladys (Deacy) Castiglione. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish-St. Augustine’s Church of Lawrence where she initiated the first Eucharistic Adoration at the church. She also sang in the choir at St. Augustine’s Parish. Janis previously worked for the IRS and as a benefits coordinator at the New England Methodist Church-New England Conference for many years. She enjoyed traveling with her family and “car rides to nowhere” with her husband and dog Lily. Janis also enjoyed sketching, crafting, playing guitar and piano, her “coffee talk” and spending time with her family.
Janis was the beloved wife of Emmanuel “Manny” Salesi, with whom she shared 50 years of marriage. She was the devoted mother of Timothy Salesi, Kathleen Lund and her husband Erik, Linda Orlando and her husband Joseph, Joseph Salesi and the late Janis “Jaye” Salesi. Janis was the dear sister of A. Paul Castiglione and his wife Diane, and Joanne Castiglione and her husband Gary Minks. She was the loving grandmother of Emily, and Maddy. Janis is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Friends and guests are invited to join the family for a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Good Counsel-St. Theresa’s Parish, 22 Plymouth St. Methuen on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at 10:00 AM, please meet directly at church. The funeral mass will be live streamed at www.OLGCparish.com Interment to follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery. Due to the ongoing global pandemic and government regulations, facial coverings are required to attend the funeral mass and interment. Social distancing must also be observed.
