James (Jimmy) Leo Jean's Obituary
James "Jimmy" Leo Jean, 75, passed away on Thursday, November 24, 2022. He was the husband of Karen M. (Fontaine) Jean, to whom he was married for 40 years this past June 2.
Jimmy was born on July 5, 1947, in Lawrence, MA, the son of the late Pauline and Leo Jean. Jimmy attended and graduated from Salem High School. He then proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He owned and operated Nu Face Kitchen in Salem, NH for over 30 years until his retirement.
Jimmy enjoyed riding his Harley with his best friend, Al Bourque. He was an avid sports fan and favorite team was the New England Patriots. He enjoyed spending time at the beach. Jimmy loved all animals, especially his dogs, Rosie, Lilly and the late Nikki. He loved to crack jokes. He was very sensitive and deeply loving though he wasn’t always comfortable letting you know. He loved his 50th Anniversary Commemorative Edition blue Corvette and belonged to the Corvette Club. He especially loved spending time with his family.
Jimmy will be deeply missed by his beloved wife, Karen Marie Jean; his 3 daughters, Brianna Flanders, and her husband, Chris, of Buzzards Bay, MA, Danielle Jean of Derry, NH, and Carrie Berube and her husband, Stephen, of Methuen; 2 sisters, Donna Lockhart-Romaska, and her husband, Jack, of Derry, NH and Sherry Mason of North Port, Florida; 5 grandchildren, Alanna, Avery and Amelia Flanders and Alexandra and Nicholas Berube; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and dear friends, including his niece, Jesse Lockhart and his nephew and niece, Marty & Shayla Mason. He is predeceased by his parents and his nephew, Jay Lockhart.
Family and friends will honor and celebrate Jimmy’s life by gathering for his calling hours, which will be from 1 – 3 PM on Monday, November 28, 2022 at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street, Methuen. A Celebration of Life will immediately follow at 3 PM on Monday at the funeral home. Burial at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen, NH will take place at a later date.
