James Jessick's Obituary
James Jessick, 79, of Methuen, passed away on Saturday, June 17, 2023 at West Roxbury VA Medical Center in West Roxbury. He was the beloved husband of Michele (Olef) Jessick, with whom he shared 35 years of marriage.
He was born in Norwood, MA, on July 11, 1943. He was the son of the late Edward and Pauline (Babel) Jessick. James served in the United States Army as a Private First Class. He worked as a truck driver until his retirement. Jim was a member of St. Lucy Parish in Methuen. He was a lifelong polka fan and that is where he met his wife, Michele. They often traveled around New England and into New Jersey to go dancing as well even going on a few polka cruises. Jim also enjoyed his annual trip to bike week to go and watch the motorcycle races with old friends. In addition, he also liked to spend time in Florida. Most of all he loved to spend time with his friends and family, especially his grandchildren, Maggie, Jack, and Caroline.
He was predeceased by his siblings, Edward Joseph Jessick and Arlene Purpura; and brother-in-law, Joey Twomey.
Jim will be deeply missed by his wife, Michele Jessick of Methuen; his three children, Tracy Curran and her husband, John of Norwood, Stanley V. Olef of Methuen, and Susan V. Olef of Wareham; siblings, Maryanne Twomey of Brockton and Dennis Jessick and his wife, Lisa of Old Orchard Beach, ME; his cherished grandchildren, Maggie, Jack, and Caroline Curran; and two nephews, Gussy and David Purpura.
Relatives and guests are respectfully invited to attend calling hours on Monday, June 26, 2023, from 10:00 AM until 12 Noon at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street in Methuen. His funeral service will be held immediately following calling hours, beginning promptly at 12 Noon on Monday in the funeral home. Burial will be at Bellevue Cemetery, 170 May Street in Lawrence.
