Irma E. Peters' Obituary
Methuen, MA- Irma Elva (Greene) Peters, 96, died on Friday, August 28,2009 at her home, surrounded by those she loved.
Born on January 20, 1913 in Bowdoin, ME, Irma was the daughter of Harry E. and Ella (Pratt) Greene. Irma was educated in the Newburyport School System and a graduate of Newburyport High School.
For many years Irma worked for the National North East Aluminum Company. Among her many hobbies, Irma loved to read, knit, crochet, and cook. She also enjoyed gardening, solving crossword puzzles and sewing and mending various things for her family.
The widow of the late John F. Peters, Irma is survived by her children, Mary Milone of Methuen, Joan Coppola of Haverhill, Barbara Blackburn of Manchester, N.H., Gloria & Mike Alaimo of Methuen, Frances Mailhiot of Salem, N.H., Bernadette & John Kerins of Bradford, Donna & Peter Gioia, John & Deborah Peters of Methuen. She is also survived by 20 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren and her sibling, Beulah Sterner of Maine. Irma was pre-deceased by her brothers Leon and Norman Greene and her daughter, Julie A. DiGloria
