Irene A. (Morkeski) White's Obituary
Irene A. (Morkeski) White, 94, of North Andover, formerly of Methuen passed away on December 13, 2017 at the Prescott House in North Andover. She was born on September 13, 1923 to her late parents, Hipolit and Anna (Picarz) Morkeski in Lawrence, MA.
Irene was raised and educated in Lawrence, graduating from Lawrence High School with the Class of 1942. After high school, she served in the United States Coast Guard during WWII. Irene worked for many years as a secretary at the Tire Rubber Company and then Raytheon from where she retired. A devoted lifelong Catholic, she was a member of St. Theresa’s Rainbow Club and enjoyed many activities at the Methuen Senior Center. Irene loved dancing, travelling, and sewing. She touched many lives in many different circles and she will fondly be remembered, loved, and cherished.
Irene is survived by her devoted husband, Anthony White of North Andover, they shared over 66 years of marriage. She was the cherished sister to Jane Green of North Andover and to Stacia Cyr of Salisbury, NH and the beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews. Irene was preceded in death by her five brothers.
Visitation for Irene will be held on Thursday, December 21, 2017 from 10 – 11 AM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street, Methuen. Friends and family are cordially invited to attend. A graveside committal service will be held following visitation at the Bellevue Cemetery, 170 May Street, Lawrence. Military honors will conclude the ceremony. The Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home is proud to serve the White and Morkeski families.
