Helen M. Gaudreau's Obituary
Helen Margaret (Delaney) Gaudreau, age 94 of Methuen passed away on February 18, 2019 at Wingate at Andover. Helen was born in Andover on June 8, 1924 to the late Clarence J. and Mary Ellen (Goodwin) Delaney. She was a former longtime communicant of Our Lady of Good Counsel (St. Theresa’s Parish in Methuen). She attended St. Augustine Grammar School and Punchard High School in Andover, where she enjoyed performing as a Cheerleader. Helen walked up to 3 miles every day with her friends until her mid-80s. She was also a member of the Salem, NH Bowling League. She and her beloved husband, Henry also enjoyed dining and dancing every Friday evening at the former Red Tavern in Methuen. In addition, Helen and her late husband Henry golfed every Saturday and Sunday. She was very proud that she once hit a hole in one while golfing on Cape Cod. Helen always welcomed friends and family into her home where she would cook and entertain. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Helen was the beloved wife of the late Henry L. Gaudreau. She was the devoted mother of Jane E. Crafton and her husband John of Rowley and Louis H. Gaudreau and his wife Cheryl of Methuen. Helen was the loving grandmother of Shauna Ross and her husband Mark, Jessica Barrows and her husband Robert, Louis Gaudreau, and Nicole Moody and her husband Matt. She was the cherished great grandmother of Abigail C. Ross, Molly C. Ross, Colin J. Barrows, and Maisey Grace Barrows. Helen was the dear sister of the late Clarence S. Delaney, the late Thomas J. Delaney, and the late Mary P. Becotte. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Friends and guests are invited to call on Friday, February 22, 2019 from 9:00 AM until 10:30 AM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence St. Methuen. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, February 22, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Good Counsel-St. Theresa’s Parish, 22 Plymouth St. Methuen.
