Helen M. Frey's Obituary
Helen M. (Ratte) Frey, 98 of Methuen, passed away on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at the Prescott House in North Andover. She was the beloved wife of the late Kenneth C. Frey.
Helen was born in Methuen on April 1, 1924, the daughter of the late Arthur and Rose (Comeau) Ratte. She worked as a clerical assistant in the Lawrence public schools for over 10 years until her retirement. Helen loved knitting, crocheting, and doing other crafts. Reading, however, was her passion.
Helen will be deeply missed by her 2 daughters, Eileen Asoian of Methuen and Janet Courtemanche of Hingham, MA; 3 siblings, Claire Hibbard of New Hampshire, Lillian Davis of Florida, and Richard Ratte and his wife, Danielle of New Hampshire; 3 grandchildren, Kristen Schultz and her husband, Peter, of Pembroke, MA, Christopher Courtemanche and his wife, Mia, of Plymouth, MA, and Michael Asoian and his wife, Sara, of Wichita, KS; 7 great grandchildren, Justin and Anna Courtemanche, Grace, Evie, and Peter Schultz III, and Brady and Logan Asoian; and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her 2 sons-in-law, John Asoian and Roger Courtemanche.
Family and friends will honor and celebrate Helen’s life by gathering for her calling hours on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 from 10 AM – 12 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street, Methuen. Her funeral service will be held at 12 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
