Helen F. (Beaucage) Gagnon's Obituary
Helen F. (Beaucage) Gagnon, 90 of Methuen, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 11, 2020 at Bridges by EPOCH at Andover. She was the beloved wife of the late Roger E. Gagnon, to whom he was married for 64 years.
Born in Blackstone, MA on March 26, 1930, Helen was the daughter of Jules C. and Bertha A. (Caron) Beaucage. She attended St. Anne’s Grammar School in Lawrence. She worked as an inspector at Lucent Technologies, Inc. until her retirement. Helen was previously a communicant at St. Anne’s Church and later at St. Lucy’s Church in Methuen, where she was a member of the Blessed Virgin Mary Sodality of St. Lucy Parish. She participated in the Cursillo at the Saint Basil Salvatorian Center in Methuen. She enjoyed taking trips with her father, and later with her sisters, to Canada. She was also very interested in real estate and liked to look at houses. Helen was a very giving person. She used to make rosary beads at St. Helen Catholic Church in Vero Beach, FL. In her free-time, she loved needlepoint and cooking for her family. She was an excellent cook, and her holiday meals were amazing. Family gatherings were very important to her. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Helen will be deeply missed by her 3 children, Al Gagnon and his wife, Paula, of Methuen, Linda Kelley and her husband, Bob, of Methuen, and Ronald Gagnon and his wife, Shirley, of Derry, NH; 8 grandchildren, Patricia, Audrey, Jonathan, Nicole, Zachary, Lauren, Jenna, and McKenzie; 1 great-grandson Jackson Martin; 3 sisters, Claire Lacroix of Naples, FL, Marguerite Annaloro of Connecticut, and Diane Harihar of Lowell; her brother-in-law, Ron Gagnon, and his wife, Kathy, of Methuen; and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will honor and celebrate Helen’s life by gathering for her calling hours at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street, Methuen on Thursday, December 17, 2020 from 4 - 8 PM. Her Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish/St. Theresa Church, 22 Plymouth St, Methuen on Friday, December 18, 2020 at 11 AM. The mass will be live streamed at www.olgcparish.com/70 Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery in Methuen. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date. Due to COVID-19 guidelines, face masks will be required at the funeral home and the church, and social distancing must be followed. If you have a health or other underlying concern, please do not attend. Helen’s family will understand and respect your decision.
