Guido A Caraccio's Obituary
Guido A. Caraccio of Methuen and Lawrence, Massachusetts died on October 9, 2024, he was 99.
Guido served in World War II as a Marksman Rifleman in the U.S. Army from July 13, 1943 to April 29, 1945. He was awarded the Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon with a Service Star and the Philippine Liberation Ribbon with a Service Star, and was Honorably Discharged with a Conduct Ribbon, Guido was severely injured and endured his disability his entire life. Guido served his Country with distinction and honor.
For many years Guido resided at The Berkely Retirement Home in Lawrence where he was loved and will be sadly missed. One of his many kindnesses was to deliver The Eagle-Tribune newspaper to its residents as well as enjoying completing its crossword puzzles. Prior to coming to The Berkeley, Guido lived with his sister, Ida Miele, at his family home just down the street in Methuen. As Guido was admitted to The Berkeley, Joanna Colon helped him transition to its assisted living facility. After several years Guido was then transferred to its Nursing Home facilities where The Berkeley Family had the honor of caring for Guido. Everyone from the Nursing staff, CNAs, Activities, the Kitchen staff, and housekeeping will miss him greatly.
Guido was predeceased by his loving and caring sister Ida Miele and his parents Arturo and Adele (Silvestro) Caraccio. Guido also leaves several cousins. For many years he was under the guardianship and custody of Atty. Peter J. Caruso and paralegal Karen Bonfim who cared for Guido for over 22 years.
A Memorial Service will be conducted at The Berkeley Retirement Home at 150 Berkeley Street, Lawrence, MA, on Thursday, October 17, 2024, at 2 p.m. in the historic magnificent stained glass windowed Searles Chapel.
